I hate that there is a Hell. That’s why I live the way I do. I try to give people the option not to go there.
I also hate Rabies. I wish it didn’t exist, but it does. If I tell someone with rabies, “Drink apple juice three times each day, and you’ll feel better in two weeks,” then they will die. It doesn’t matter whether I believe it passionately. It doesn’t matter how perfectly they follows my instructions. Nothing will counter the fatal chemical sequence of rabies except a 6 shot series. Apple juice doesn’t correct what is causing their death.
Jesus is the same. From Human #1 we have rebelled against God, the Creator. We can’t fix that relationship anyway that we want. We fix it the way He wants.
The world hates Jesus (and his forgiveness because He is the one narrow, difficult way) in the same way that people hate shots as a treatment.
Most of us prefer to sip the apple juice.
